Hi all, I'm new to the forum. I'm considering buying a used 2006 A3 6SP 2.0T here in Vancouver BC. The car is a 2005 built 2006 model. My question is, are there any known problems with this 'first' year production car?

Yeah I know...this is a pretty small Audi forum...my suggestion is to ask in some of the larger U.S. forums.

I bought my A3 used last August as a 2006 model w/ DSG. The major problem I had with it is that the day I took delivery of the damn thing, the Mechatron went and just wouldn't change gears. I couldn't reverse and the gear lights were flashing on my dash. I could only drive it safely to the dealer and they took care of it. The other problem I had is when the intercooler hose for the Turbo came loose, but they fixed that no problem.

Seeing as you're picking up a 6SP, my Mechatron problem need not apply but just letting you know of any problems. It's a great car though, I love it. I'm glad I picked it over the GTi.
