Buying Decision - 2009 A3 2.0T vs. 2008
The new 2009 is spec'd as follows (they have this in stock)
8PA59C - A3 2.0T FWD 6sp Standard Trim - 31800
3FB - Open Sky 1500
PT2 - Bluetooth 850
PDI - 2545
Air Tax - 100
Registration 395
Tire Tax 20
List = 37210 + 5% GST = 39071
The 2008 (certified pre-owned, in stock):
8PA52C - A3 2.0T FWD 6sp Standard Trim
WQA - S-Line Package
PBW - Cold Weather
PQE - Titanium Package
3FB - Open Sky
9ZG Bluetooth
PBA - IPOD glove box interface
3S2 - Black Roof Rails
3PB - Power driver seat w/ lumbar
= 35900 + 395 Registration = 36295 + 5% GST = 38110
I'm torn between the 2 cars - the 2008 has sportier seats / suspension, 18" tires (summer), a slightly spiffier interior, blacked out front grille, and comes with 3 years of factory + 2 years extended. However, the 2009 is brand new....nicer instrument gauges.
I haven't started the bargaining process yet. I think for the 2008 I might be able to get him to thrown in a set of 18" winters (I think the car isn't selling because of the summers on it).
I can't post the link to the 2008 (I need 5 posts) but it can be seen by looking for used A3's in Calgary on the autotrader website.
The 38900 price is their old price.
Thoughts? I don't know all the details of the S-Line and Titanium packages.
Also, how much bargaining is going on these days? It's a cash deal for either.
Any help appreciated! thx

Re: Buying Decision - 2009 A3 2.0T vs. 2008
How many km on the 2008?
If the mileage was low, I'd go for that one-the nicer interior would be worth it to me, especially the cold weather package, ipod integration and power driver's seat. On the A3 the titanium package is the titanium wheels, blacked out grill, and I think a black headliner. I really like it on the right coloured car.
