Re: Buying an 08 S Line
Nice!
I hope everything is ok with your A3.
I'm thinking of getting APR tune also next spring.
This year is my first winter season with a manual transmission car so I do not want to put myself in danger with extra power lol.

The A3 is still in the shop right now but you should really consider talking to Warren at RPI and get that APR tune now. The special is over soon and for $599 now you get the full $1299 tune. At half price you will save yourself a lot of money and if you're worried about the extra power you can just switch to the stock program during the winter. Well worth it.

Re: Buying an 08 S Line
yea but I need to buy a set of winter tires too.
too much money spent on a car this year haha.
I believe APR has 599 sale every spring and around the times of big VAG events.

Re: Buying an 08 S Line
Hey thats good to know. Anyone know if Porsche or Mercedes wheels will fit on the A3? I thought Boxster wheels should fit and I sort of tried and it didnt see, to sit right (I didn't try too hard). The reason is cause I have a mint set of Porsche wheels with nice Blizzaks as well as a great set of black steelies for a Mercedes C class with a set of Hakepellita (SP?) snows. I don't drive the porsche in the winters since I lowered it so they have been used about 1 season and the mercedes ones I used for 1 season as well and then sold the car. The dealer gave me brand new snows on my A3 so I now have a couple extra sets.

Thought I should correct an observation in my earlier post.
My cabin noise is all but gone. Changed my rear tires and now have no drone. https://www.audiforum.ca/2nd-gen-a3-typ-8p-8pa-2003%96present-84/rear-suspension-design-flaw-tire-wear-66738/

Re: Buying an 08 S Line
Hi guys, new to the forum and have owned an A4 1,8T previously (nightmare) and a Q5 now (been perfect) and considering a CPO 08 S line 2.0 right now. I actually I just put down a deposit today but can get out of it if need be. Paying 27K on a clean accident free local lease return with 35K kms on it.
Anything that I should look for or be concerned about? Does the price seem reasonable? Should I consider an 09+ and pay a bit more or go for a Quattro model or TDI? I test drove the TDI and loved it. I love Quattro as well and have always had AWD cars. But I am guessing the FWD should be pretty good and with proper winter tires on the Vancouver winters shouldn't be a problem? I will probably throw in an APR ECU program and get some nicer summer tires/wheels and leave it at that.
This car is supposed to be an interim car to last 2-3 years for me. Its a daily driver and will be used to haul a toddler in the back seat once in awhile. My needs are decent gas mileage and good reliability (thats why the CPO). I am replacing my 335XI BMW with this to save some money which is why I wanted to throw in the ECU tune to make up for the lost HP/Torque.
Thanks in advance for any insight or comments.

Re: Buying an 08 S Line
I just recently bought a 2008 A3 S-line. Mines has about 33k of km on it. Still under warranty with Audi until March next year. No accidents. Also previous owner prepaid for maintenance until 75k km.
So I'm pretty happy with the deal, car also looks great and drives great.
