2008 Concert 2 swap
I have a 08 A3 with the concert II radio.
This past week the aux jack is only playing out of the passenger side speakers which is really annoying and I hate the local radio!
Has anyone done a swap from the concert II to another double din deck?
What wiring harness did you use to maintain the steering controls?
Where can I find the double din trim kit?
Is it a simple plug and play with the correct wiring harness?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: 2008 Concert 2 swap
I replaced my Concert 2 with a OEM 2010 RNSE Nav system. I did all the work myself and in the end, not adding the cost of the new RNSE unit, it ended up costing me about $500 for the double din cage new buttons and new harnesses. The work is fairly simple if your a diy kinda guy.
I basically removed the entire bottom panels of the front dash, pulled out the old cage, climate control unit, tray under control unit, and the arms.
The trickiest part was removing the old cage since it wasn't made to be pulled out from the front. I had to contort it before it finally popped out.
I also trimmed the sides of my climate control unit with a dremel since it wasn't made to fit in a double din cage and it's more narrow since it sits lower on the dash. It beats spending another 350 for a new unit.
In the end it was a fun job, and only makes the car more appealing.
