Default B5 S4 blown engine swap on Project Lola

Hey, been a while since my last post. Since then I ordered suspension, breaks, timing kit, control arm kit, transmision oil cooler, apikol rear diff mount, dts energy suspension mount and then...........Bent a valve and it dropped in the cylinder, needless to say the engine stopped dead on a right hand turn doing about 30km/h. Not a very glorious way to go down but it restricted the damage to one cyl. Still havnt removed the engine or head from that motor, pics of that will follow. I used an inspection cam to look into the cyl after using a 3ft holy F%#k bar to take out the mashed spark plug.

and it was full of metal shards and the part of the valve that dropped. So since then Ive removed intake manifold fueling, and most connectors and wiring harnesses from my motor. Dirty dirty sludge in the spider hose, which is only a year and a half old I do regular mobile 1 changes which bothers me. Oil catch can time lol

Super thick

I just did the timing belt and such 30k ago and didnt notice anything then.
Anyway, I get to inspect my work along the way. Still nice and clean.

I think the red painted bolts look great till you torq them in lol i ceramic coated and baked them but it still chipps. Also ceramic coated the intake manifold. Baked it in my oven in the house..........Dont do that btw.

So that's where work stopped on my motor. besides putting the bumper back on so i have space to work. I have another motor I got after an absolute nightmare. Not going to get into it right now. Going to do the timing belt, idlers water pump etc. Got top end reseal kits too. transfer all my parts over to it once it's ready.

I have a TINY garage, there's about 5 feet in front of my car of space which im working on the other motor in. I had all intentions of putting the motor on the stand but i havnt taken any bolts off my car to mount it on the stand so....The stand is now a high tech shop light. 4 point adjustability ppl, and it rotates! I'll be mounting it soon

And the Tear Down begins!

Valve cover first, Not Too bad. Expected worse to be honest.

Ok this is worse

Other side looks similar.

Upgraded metal impeller, good to see. Thermostat gone too.

Manifolds next then the head.

Kinda dirty

POOF That was a lot of work.

Took the other head off to do the same.

And that's been my last few nights. Im thinking of putting a tutorial together, i have way more pictures but i want to make sure it works first
I'm not a mechanic just so anyone who is checking this out knows. I'm a computer technician and Construction worker i may be in the wrong field.

I got a quote of 400 to port and polish the heads and they will match the intake and exhaust ports. I was thinking of getting a set of 2.8 heads and doing it to them for a big GT build depending on the damage to the block in the motor currently in it. Idealy id like to bore it, put a set of GT28 2.8 heads rs4 fueling. any enthusiast see's where i'm going with that. Anyway more posts to follow.
